By now we should have all got the message the money is in the list. It’s mentioned all the time by the so called gurus. I must get a list you think to yourself, but if you are new to the industry how do you get started? No need to panic, even if it seems a bit scary there is lots of help about to show you how to build your list easily. There are step by step videos to show you how.
There are lots of ways to build yourself a profitable list.Having a squeeze page with an opt in form on it is one way to build your list. I will now explain the way you capture the names and email addresses of potential customers.
Squeeze Page.
You will use a squeeze page or capture page as it is also called. You will capture your hopefully future customers names and email addresses by offering them a free ebook, course or report in exchange for their name and email address.Your autoresponder is linked to this opt in form and will send a confirmation email to your sign ups. Once they have confirmed they will then start to receive your follow up emails.
Autoresponders.
An autoresponder when it is set up with a series of follow up emails will automatically send out your emails promoting your products to everybody who fills out the opt-in form. What happens is when they sign up, your autoresponder sends them a confirmation email with a link on it which the subscriber has to click to confirm it was them who signed up.Once they have done this they will be sent your first follow up email which will contain a link for them to download the free offer you promised to them for signing up. Your autoresponder then sends further follow up emails at intervals set by you.
Safelists.
You can promote your squeeze page a couple of ways, one way is by email on the various safelists out there. Where you add a link to your email and then try to entice people to click it by offering them a free report, ebook or course that might help them with a problem they’ve been having. Once they click the link they are taken to your squeeze page where they fill out their name and email address in order to get the report or ebook you are giving away. They will then start to receive your autoresponder emails.
Traffic Exchanges.
Traffic exchanges are a good way to get your splash page seen by people. They are here surfing so they can earn credits to show their own splash pages. if you have a good free offer like your ebook or report, people will sign up and join your list. You may not get a great number of sign ups on traffic exchanges, but you have a way of getting your face known through personal branding. It is a great way to get people interested in joining your list. Add a photo to your splash page and even if people don’t fill out opt in form, they will probably see you advert several times and will get to know your face. They may eventually opt in to your list out of curiosity to find out more about you.
Article Marketing.
This is another way to get people to your splash page. Just write an interesting article with good content that will help your reader solve a problem they are having. At the bottom of the article you have a resource box where you can add a link to your squeeze page.You can even send them to your own personal website where people can find out more about you(personal branding again) and what business you are involved in.
When you’ve started building your list you start to build a relationship with them and gain their trust.
